CYBERVIEW Sdn. Bhd. (Cyberview), Cyberjaya's Tech Hub Enabler and Multimedia University (MMU), the Premier Digital Tech University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to spur and retain technology-led talent in Cyberjaya.

The signing ceremony was facilitated by the Managing Director of Cyberview, Najib Ibrahim and the President of MMU, Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, at RekaSpace, Cyberjaya on 30 September 2019.

The two-year industry-academia collaboration is designed following Cyberview’s Living Lab initiative to provide learning platforms and enduring programmes for both students and the institution concerning Smart City development and sustainability. 

The four-pronged programmes of Cyberview Living Lab; talent, accelerator, pilot and enterprise will encourage the growth of localtalent and fortify the development of technology innovation.

Najib Ibrahim, Managing Director of Cyberview said, "Malaysia is at an exciting inflexion point where technology and innovation have been the key differentiator to strategically unlock value for either human capital or economic opportunities. 

"The recently launched Malaysia Smart City Framework by the government strengthens the need for local talent to grasp necessary skills on this perpetual journey of industry demand transformation.

"MMU, the first private university approved by the Malaysian government has been producing exceptional talents in the field of ICT. 

"Their solid reputation with the industries in parallel with our initiative in facilitating the industry demand by connecting the right talent with the right organisation, here in Cyberjaya.”

Meanwhile, Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, the President of MMU, is highly enthusiastic about the tie-up, considering that the university was established to enable the effective usage of technology. 

As a Trendsetter University and Digital Premier Tech University, MMU is grateful with the MoU collaboration where he described, “The MoU is very important to bridge the gap between the university’s R&D and the industry.”

Prof.Rafi added that the synergies reaped from the collaboration could well lead to major advances across a number of industries. 

He added, due to the industry-driven programmes and industrial collaboration by the university, MMU graduates constantly emerge as the most sought-after by various industries, and most preferred graduates by the ICT industry. 

Apart from this collaboration, as a Tech-Hub Enabler, Cyberview has been aggressively activating elements to enrich Cyberjaya’s tech ecosystem.
